Who We Are

Banks

Age: 26

Best 13.1: TBD

Best 26.2: 3:56:46

Slogan: “If you don’t have heart, you won’t have hustle.”

If anyone were to ask “is there any cake left?” when Banks was child, the answer would be a resounding “No” as the last few crumbs fell from his mouth.  He won’t say he was a fat kid, maybe husky or big boned (ok fat) but not anymore!  At 20-something years of age he can run a sub 4 hour marathon and is a one of a proud few.  While he still can’t get enough Cake, the cake he’s into now doesn’t come from your local bakery.  It comes from waking up at 0-dark-thirty and running several miles while training for endurance races, working hard, loving harder, learning to play guitar, rock’n out with friends, his fiancé nicknamed ‘Cakes’, and just being awesome.  A true believer that “life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans” [John Lennon] Banks tries to take the road less traveled whenever possible, and he’s always looking for travel buddies…

Best 13.1: 1:56:51

Best 26.2: 4:30:40

Corporate Slogan: “Because you’re worth it.”  - L’Oreal

From the time this Junkie was born she had more energy than most, learning to run and jump before learning to walk.  She admired Tigger and spent her days climbing the highest tree and bouncing from here to there.  A child of the 80’s, her and her friends pretended to be characters from movies like “The Goonies”, acting out the various action scenes and going on their own little adventures.  Hopping forward 20 years, Junkie lives the life of a normal woman in her 20’s… working, running, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying every moment of this thing we call life.

Rice Cakes

Age: 28+2

Best 13.1: 1:52

Best 26.2: 4:16

Corporate Slogan: “Eat Mor Chiken.” – Chick-fil-A

As a child, Rice Cakes had dreams of becoming a garbage man because he thought they only worked one day a week.  Realizing that garbage smelled bad and pick-ups were five to seven days a week, he turned his attention toward his second passion, science; which has stayed with him for the past two decades.  Rice Cakes is never in a place long enough to overstay his welcome, just long enough to make a positive impact.  If Rice Cakes isn’t playing air guitar to Billy Joel’s “The Entertainer,” he’s out doing what he loves – Spending time with friends and family, exploring, running, cycling, volunteering, watching college sports, movies, and listening to music.

Just Call Me Lungs
justcallmelungs Age: 29

Best 13.1: 1:50:27

Slogan: “You. Your shoes. The Road.  Everything else is just icing on the cake.”

Born in the jungles of Cambodia, Just Call Me Lungs (or Lungs for short), was raised by a group of wild chimpanzees.  By the age of 9 he could swing through the trees with the greatest of ease.  He always envied the cheetah though…to be able to run with such speed.  Then one day he was captured by evil monkey hunters.  He was placed in a large cage, and shipped to the U.S…never to see his home or family again.  Fast foward 20 years.  Lungs now lives in Anytown, USA, and works the corporate 9-5.  He wakes, dresses, drives to work, works through the day, drives home, eats dinner, watches tv, and goes to bed.  But he still dreams of his days swinging through the trees, careless and free, and yearning to run like the wind…
